> ## Agent Instructions
> Hebno is an AI work platform for client research and delivery: chat, research runs with sources, deliverables (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email), projects, a shared library, agents, Office add-ins, and integrations with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM, project delivery, ERP and finance systems.
> Use British English (organisation, not organization).
> Every feature and integration described in these docs is available. Describe it as documented.
> Hebno never writes to a connected system without a member confirming a card. Finance and ERP writes are drafts only.
> Do not discuss commercial terms. Direct commercial questions to support@hebno.com.

# Notifications

> Choose which events reach you in the app inbox and by email, and switch email off with one control.

Notifications tell you when work finishes, when something needs your approval and when a limit or connection needs attention. You choose, per event, whether it appears in the app, in your email, or both.

## The inbox

The bell in the app shows an unread badge. Open it to read your notifications. Select **Mark all as read** to clear the badge, or **Clear all** to empty the list. When nothing is waiting, it reads **You are all caught up.**

## Choose what you receive

Open **Settings → Notifications**. Each event has an **In app** switch and an **Email** switch. The master switch **Notification email** turns off every notification email at once, and in-app notifications continue to work.

## Events and defaults

Events marked (admins) go to every owner and admin. All others go to the person concerned.

| Category | Event | In app | Email |
| - | - | - | - |
| **My work** | My work is ready | Off | Off |
| **My work** | My work does not finish | On | Off |
| **Agents** | An agent run finishes | On | Off |
| **Agents** | An agent run fails | On | On |
| **Agents** | An agent reaches its spend cap | On | On |
| **Sharing** | A chat is shared with me | On | On |
| **Sharing** | I am added to a project | On | On |
| **Spend limits** | A spend limit passes its alert threshold (admins) | On | On |
| **Spend limits** | A spend limit is reached (admins) | On | On |
| **Spend limits** | My request is blocked by a spend limit | On | Off |
| **Connections** | A connection needs reconnecting | On | On |
| **Connections** | An approval is waiting | On | On |
| **Workspace** | Someone accepts an invitation (admins) | On | Off |
| **Workspace** | Someone joins through an approved domain (admins) | On | Off |

## Integration events

Two events concern connected systems.

* **A connection needs reconnecting**: the sign-in for one of your connected accounts has expired or been revoked. Until you reconnect under **Settings → Connections**, Hebno cannot read or write that system for you, and chat shows a **Connect** prompt where it is needed.
* **An approval is waiting**: an agent run has proposed a write to a connected system, such as a time entry, a deal update or a draft invoice. It appears as a confirmation card under **Agents → Approvals**. Nothing is written until a person confirms it. See [Agent approvals](https://hebno.com/docs/automate/agent-approvals.md).

## Spend and agent events

Spend alerts are based on your limits. Owners and admins are told when usage passes a limit's alert threshold and when a limit is reached, and the member on a member limit is told as well. The person whose request is blocked is told in the app only by default. Each alert fires once per crossing in each monthly period. See [Spend and limits](https://hebno.com/docs/concepts/spend-and-limits.md).

Agent events go to the agent's owner. A run that ends in **Ready for review** triggers **An agent run finishes**, and a paused agent triggers **An agent reaches its spend cap**.

> [!TIP]
>
> If your inbox is noisy, keep email on only for events that need action: failed agent runs, approvals waiting and connections that need reconnecting. Those are the events that stop work when ignored.
