> ## Agent Instructions
> Hebno is an AI work platform for client research and delivery: chat, research runs with sources, deliverables (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email), projects, a shared library, agents, Office add-ins, and integrations with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM, project delivery, ERP and finance systems.
> Use British English (organisation, not organization).
> Every feature and integration described in these docs is available. Describe it as documented.
> Hebno never writes to a connected system without a member confirming a card. Finance and ERP writes are drafts only.
> Do not discuss commercial terms. Direct commercial questions to support@hebno.com.
> Start with /index and /get-started/quickstart.

# PowerPoint

> Select text on a slide, ask Hebno to sharpen it, then add it as a new text box or replace the selection.

The PowerPoint add-in sends the text you select on a slide to Hebno and inserts the reply on the slide. Install and sign-in steps are on [Office add-ins](https://hebno.com/docs/apps/office-add-ins.md).

## Open the pane

In PowerPoint, go to **Home → Hebno → Open Hebno**. The pane shows the hint "Select text on a slide to ask Hebno about it."

## Work on a selection

**1. Select text on a slide**

Click into a text box and highlight the words you want to work on.

**2. Select Use selection**

A **Selected text** card appears above the message box with a character count. Remove it before sending if you change your mind.

**3. Add an instruction**

For example "Turn this into a single headline", "Shorten to three bullets" or "Rewrite for a steering committee". Send it.

**4. Place the reply**

Choose a button under the reply.

## Insert, replace or copy

| Button | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Insert on slide** | Adds the reply to the current slide as a new text box. |
| **Replace selection** | Overwrites the selected text on the slide. |
| **Copy** | Copies the reply to your clipboard. |

Hebno confirms with "Added a text box to the slide." or "Replaced selected text on the slide."

**Replace selection** only runs if the selected text still matches what you captured. If the selection has changed, you are asked to select again.

## Slide behaviour

* A new text box appears on the slide you have open. Move and style it with PowerPoint's own tools.
* Replies are plain text. Markdown is flattened and bullets arrive as "•" lines. Apply your template's styles after inserting.
* Hebno reads the text you capture, not the rest of the slide, the speaker notes or the other slides.

## Use project context and skills

* Tag the chat to a [project](https://hebno.com/docs/projects/create-a-project.md) so replies use that engagement's files, instructions and linked records.
* Type `/` to attach a [skill](https://hebno.com/docs/automate/skills.md), for example your firm's headline style. You can attach up to three.

## When to build the deck in Hebno instead

To create a whole deck with a template, layouts and speaker notes, ask in the web app or desktop app and download the `.pptx`. Use the add-in to polish wording on a deck that already exists. See [Decks](https://hebno.com/docs/deliverables/decks.md).

## Limits

| Item | Limit |
| - | - |
| Selection length | 20,000 characters, longer text is cut with a notice |
| What Hebno reads | Only the selection you capture |
| What it writes | A plain text box, or the replaced selection |
