> ## Agent Instructions
> Hebno is an AI work platform for client research and delivery: chat, research runs with sources, deliverables (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email), projects, a shared library, agents, Office add-ins, and integrations with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM, project delivery, ERP and finance systems.
> Use British English (organisation, not organization).
> Every feature and integration described in these docs is available. Describe it as documented.
> Hebno never writes to a connected system without a member confirming a card. Finance and ERP writes are drafts only.

# Adobe Acrobat Sign

> Read Acrobat Sign agreements, participants, status and signed documents in Hebno, and create draft agreements after you confirm.

The Adobe Acrobat Sign integration makes agreement status available in your client work. Ask whether Contoso has signed the master services agreement, who is next in the signing order, or what the signed version says about termination, and Hebno answers from Acrobat Sign with each agreement cited. When a deliverable is ready for signature, Hebno prepares a draft agreement after you confirm, and you send it from Acrobat Sign yourself.

## At a glance

| | |
| - | - |
| **Connection** | Personal connection. Each member connects their own Acrobat Sign user. |
| **Default access** | Read and write |
| **Attach** | Agreements, signed documents, library templates |
| **Search** | Hebno searches Acrobat Sign when a request mentions an agreement, contract, signature, signer, approver or template |
| **Link** | A project links to one or more Acrobat Sign agreements |
| **Write** | Create a draft agreement. Every write needs a person to confirm. You send the agreement from Acrobat Sign. |

## Before you start

You need:

* An Acrobat Sign user in the account your firm uses for client agreements, with permission to send agreements.
* Access to the library templates you want to use, shared with you, your group or the account.
* An allowed integration. An owner or admin sets **Adobe Acrobat Sign** to **Allow** under **Admin → Connectors → Catalogue**.

Hebno requests these OAuth scopes. The `:self` modifier limits each scope to agreements and templates your own user can open.

| Scope | Why Hebno needs it |
| - | - |
| `user_read:self` | Identify your Acrobat Sign user and account |
| `agreement_read:self` | Read agreements, participants, events, form data and documents |
| `agreement_write:self` | Create agreements in the **DRAFT** state after you confirm |
| `library_read:self` | Read library templates and their documents |

Hebno does not request `agreement_send`, so it cannot send an agreement out for signature.

Acrobat Sign accounts are hosted on regional shards, such as North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and India. Hebno uses the API access point Acrobat Sign returns when you connect, so every region connects the same way.

## Connect Adobe Acrobat Sign

**1. Start the connection**

Open **Settings → Connections**, find **Adobe Acrobat Sign** under **Proposals and signatures** and select **Connect**. You can also select **Connect** from the prompt in a chat.

**2. Sign in to Acrobat Sign**

Sign in with your Adobe ID or company account, review the permissions and select **Allow Access**.

**3. Return to Hebno**

The card shows **Connected** with your Acrobat Sign email.

Hebno reads and writes with your own permissions, so you see only the agreements you sent or participate in, and the agreements shared with you. Tokens are encrypted at rest. Select **Disconnect** at any time, or ask an admin to revoke the connection under **Admin → Connectors → Connections**.

## What Hebno reads

| Acrobat Sign object | Fields Hebno uses | Typical questions |
| - | - | - |
| **Agreement** | Name, sender, status (draft, out for signature, out for approval, signed, approved, cancelled, expired), created and expiry dates, message | "Has Contoso signed the master services agreement?" |
| **Participant set** | Participants, role (signer, approver, acceptor, form filler), signing order, status | "Who is next to sign the Contoso agreement?" |
| **Signed document** | Text of the combined signed document | "What notice period is in the signed Contoso agreement?" |
| **Audit report** | Events such as created, sent, viewed, signed and delegated, with dates | "When did Sarah Chen sign?" |
| **Form data** | Values participants entered in form fields | "What purchase order number did Contoso enter?" |
| **Library template** | Name, sharing mode, template type, documents | "Which template do we use for change orders?" |

Reads are live. Hebno queries Acrobat Sign when a request needs it. Only what a reply used is stored with the conversation as its sources.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Excerpts a reply uses become part of the conversation. Anyone you share the conversation with can read them, including contract terms and form values from Acrobat Sign.

## What Hebno writes

Every write appears first as a confirmation card. You can change any field before you select **Confirm**.

| Action | Acrobat Sign object | Fields on the card |
| - | - | - |
| **Create a draft agreement** | Agreement in the **DRAFT** state | Agreement name, library template or deliverable, participants with roles and order, carbon copy recipients, message, expiry |

An Adobe Acrobat Sign change pending confirmation. Nothing is written until you confirm.

The draft appears on the **Manage** page in Acrobat Sign under **Draft**. You open it, place or check the form fields, and select **Send**. Hebno never sends, cancels, replaces, delegates or signs an agreement, and never changes library templates, groups or account settings.

Drafts are created as your Acrobat Sign user, so Acrobat Sign shows you as the sender.

## Link a project to an agreement

Linking marks which agreements belong to an engagement, so you can ask "is everything signed?" without naming the agreement.

1. Open the project and select **Brain**.
2. Under **Linked records**, select **Link record**, then **Adobe Acrobat Sign**.
3. Search by agreement name or participant and select the agreement. Repeat for each agreement in the engagement.

In chats tagged to the project, Hebno starts with the linked agreements for any contract or signature question. Drafts created from the project are linked automatically. See [Linked records](https://hebno.com/docs/projects/linked-records.md).

## Use Adobe Acrobat Sign in chat

* **Attach**: open the **+** menu, choose **Sources → Adobe Acrobat Sign**, and pick an agreement, a signed document or a library template. Or type `/` and choose **Adobe Acrobat Sign**.

* **Ask**: name the client, agreement or participant in your request. For example:

  > Which Contoso agreements are out for signature, and who is each one waiting on?

  > Summarise the termination and confidentiality clauses in the signed Contoso master services agreement.

  > Create a draft change order for Contoso with Sarah Chen as signer and Priya Nair as approver.

* **Research runs** show a **Checking Adobe Acrobat Sign** step, with a chip for each agreement it read.

* **Agents** can read Acrobat Sign on a schedule, for example a weekly list of agreements due to expire. Writes an agent proposes appear in [agent approvals](https://hebno.com/docs/automate/agent-approvals.md) for review.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Fix |
| - | - |
| Requests fail with `INVALID_ACCESS_TOKEN` | The authorisation expired or was revoked. Select **Connect** to authorise again. |
| A draft fails with `PERMISSION_DENIED` | Your Acrobat Sign user cannot send agreements. Ask your Acrobat Sign account admin to allow sending for your user or group. |
| An agreement you expect is missing | You did not send it and are not a participant. Ask the sender to share it with you in Acrobat Sign. |
| A library template is missing from the card | The template is personal to its owner. Ask them to share it with your group or the account. |
| Signed document text is empty | The agreement is still out for signature, or the signed file is a scanned image. Open the agreement in Acrobat Sign. |
| Requests fail with `THROTTLING_TOO_MANY_REQUESTS` | Acrobat Sign limits requests over time for each user. Wait for the period Acrobat Sign returns and retry. |
