> ## Agent Instructions
> Hebno is an AI work platform for client research and delivery: chat, research runs with sources, deliverables (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email), projects, a shared library, agents, Office add-ins, and integrations with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, CRM, project delivery, ERP and finance systems.
> Use British English (organisation, not organization).
> Every feature and integration described in these docs is available. Describe it as documented.
> Hebno never writes to a connected system without a member confirming a card. Finance and ERP writes are drafts only.
> Do not discuss commercial terms. Direct commercial questions to support@hebno.com.

# Attio

> Read Attio companies, people, deals, lists, notes and tasks in Hebno, and add notes, tasks, attribute updates and list entries after you confirm.

The Attio integration shows your relationships and pipeline next to your client work. Ask what stage a deal is at, who you know at a company, or what the team noted after the last meeting, and Hebno answers from Attio with each record cited. When a request implies a change, such as adding a note or moving a company into a list, Hebno shows a confirmation card and writes to Attio only after you confirm.

## At a glance

| | |
| - | - |
| **Connection** | Personal connection. Each member connects their own Attio user. |
| **Default access** | Read and write |
| **Attach** | Companies, people, deals, lists, records from custom objects |
| **Search** | Hebno searches Attio when a request mentions a client, contact, deal, list, stage, owner or a past note |
| **Link** | A project links to an Attio company and to one or more deals |
| **Write** | Add a note, create a task, update a record attribute, add a record to a list. Every write needs a person to confirm. |

## Before you start

You need:

* An Attio user in the workspace that contains your client records.
* Permission to install apps in that workspace. In Attio, workspace admins manage installed apps under **Workspace settings → Apps**. If you are not an admin, ask one to install Hebno first.
* An allowed integration. An owner or admin sets **Attio** to **Allow** under **Admin → Connectors → Catalogue**.

Hebno requests these OAuth scopes:

| Scope | Why Hebno needs it |
| - | - |
| `record_permission:read-write` | Read companies, people, deals and custom object records, and update attributes after you confirm |
| `object_configuration:read` | Read objects and attribute definitions, including select options and statuses |
| `list_entry:read-write` | Read list entries and add records to a list after you confirm |
| `list_configuration:read` | Read lists, their stages and list attributes |
| `note:read-write` | Read notes and add them after you confirm |
| `task:read-write` | Read tasks and create them after you confirm |
| `comment:read` | Read comment threads on records and list entries |
| `user_management:read` | Show workspace members as owners and assignees |

## Connect Attio

**1. Start the connection**

Open **Settings → Connections**, find **Attio** and select **Connect**. You can also select **Connect** from the prompt in a chat.

**2. Choose your workspace**

Sign in to Attio, choose the workspace if you belong to more than one, review the access Hebno requests and select **Authorise**.

**3. Return to Hebno**

The card shows **Connected** with your Attio workspace name.

Hebno reads and writes with your own permissions, so you see only the objects and lists your Attio access allows, including private lists you belong to. Tokens are encrypted at rest. Select **Disconnect** at any time, or ask an admin to revoke the connection under **Admin → Connectors → Connections**.

## What Hebno reads

| Attio object | Fields Hebno uses | Typical questions |
| - | - | - |
| **Company** | Name, domains, description, categories, team, owner, strongest connection, custom attributes | "What do we know about Contoso Retail?" |
| **Person** | Name, email addresses, job title, company, phone numbers, social profiles | "Who do we know at Contoso?" |
| **Deal** | Name, stage, value, owner, associated company and people, custom attributes | "Which Contoso deals are open and at what stage?" |
| **Custom object record** | Every attribute your workspace defines, by its title | "Which partners are tagged for the retail sector?" |
| **List and list entry** | List name, parent object, stages and list attributes for each entry | "What is on the Q4 pursuits list, and who owns each entry?" |
| **Note** | Title, content, parent record, author, created date | "What did Sarah note after the Contoso workshop?" |
| **Task** | Content, deadline, assignees, linked records, completed flag | "Which tasks are open on the Contoso deal?" |
| **Comment** | Author, text, thread, date | "What did the team say about the pricing in the comments?" |

Reads are live. Hebno queries Attio when a request needs it. Only what a reply used is stored with the conversation as its sources.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Excerpts a reply uses become part of the conversation. Anyone you share the conversation with can read them, including notes and contact details from Attio.

## What Hebno writes

Every write appears first as a confirmation card. You can change any field before you select **Confirm**.

| Action | Attio object | Fields on the card |
| - | - | - |
| **Add a note** | Note | Parent record, title, content |
| **Create a task** | Task | Content, deadline, assignees, linked records |
| **Update a record attribute** | Record | Record, attribute, new value |
| **Add to a list** | List entry | List, record, stage or list attribute values |

An Attio change pending confirmation. Nothing is written until you confirm.

Hebno never deletes records or list entries, merges records, changes objects, attributes or list configuration, or sends email from Attio.

Writes are made through your Attio user, so Attio shows you as the actor in the record's activity.

## Link a project to a company and a deal

Linking marks which Attio records belong to a project, so you can ask "what stage is the deal at?" without naming it.

1. Open the project and select **Brain**.
2. Under **Linked records**, select **Link record**, then **Attio**.
3. Search for the company and select it. Repeat to add the deals that belong to the engagement.

In chats tagged to the project, Hebno starts with the linked company and deals for any client or pipeline question, and cards for notes and tasks default to them. See [Linked records](https://hebno.com/docs/projects/linked-records.md).

## Use Attio in chat

* **Attach**: open the **+** menu, choose **Sources → Attio**, and pick a company, person, deal or list. Or type `/` and choose **Attio**.

* **Ask**: name the client, contact, deal or list in your request. For example:

  > Prep me for the Contoso Retail meeting on 12 November: open deals, our strongest connections and the last three notes.

  > Which entries on the Q4 pursuits list have not moved stage since 1 October, and who owns them?

  > Set the Contoso Phase 2 deal stage to Proposal sent and add a task for Priya Nair to follow up by 9 November.

* **Research runs** show a **Reviewing Attio** step, with a chip for each record, list and note it read.

* **Agents** can read Attio on a schedule, for example a Monday brief on list entries that have stalled. Writes an agent proposes appear in [agent approvals](https://hebno.com/docs/automate/agent-approvals.md) for review.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Fix |
| - | - |
| Attio says the app needs an admin to install it | Ask an Attio workspace admin to install Hebno under **Workspace settings → Apps**, then select **Connect** again. |
| A request fails with **missing scope** | The connection predates a scope Hebno uses. Select **Disconnect**, then **Connect** again and approve the full list. |
| A list or record is missing from answers | The list is private or your access level hides it. Hebno reads only what you can read in Attio. |
| An attribute update fails with a validation message | The value does not match the attribute type, such as an unknown select option or status. Pick a valid value on the card and select **Confirm** again. |
| **Reconnect Attio** appears | The app was uninstalled or the token revoked in Attio. Select **Connect** to authorise again. |
| Requests fail with **429 Too Many Requests** | Attio limits requests per second for each workspace. Wait a few seconds and retry. |
