# ZoomInfo

> Read ZoomInfo company profiles, contacts, org charts, technographics and intent signals in Hebno, within the usage limits your admin sets.

The ZoomInfo integration brings company and contact data into account research. Ask how big Contoso Retail's finance team is, who runs pricing, which systems they use or what topics they are researching, and Hebno answers from ZoomInfo with each profile cited. An owner or admin connects ZoomInfo once for the organisation. Hebno reads only and never writes to ZoomInfo.

## At a glance

| | |
| - | - |
| **Connection** | Organisation connection, made by an owner or admin. |
| **Default access** | Read only. Contact details are visible to owners and admins until you share them with teams. |
| **Attach** | Company profiles, contacts, org charts |
| **Search** | Hebno searches ZoomInfo when a request mentions a company's size, revenue, leadership, departments, technology or buying signals |
| **Link** | A project links to a ZoomInfo company |
| **Write** | None. Hebno reads only. |

## Before you start

You need:

* An owner or admin role in Hebno.
* A ZoomInfo contract with API access, and the entitlements for the data you want, such as intent or technographics.
* An API user and credentials for that user. A ZoomInfo admin creates them in the ZoomInfo **Admin Portal** under **Integrations → API**, which issues a client ID and a private key for PKI authentication.

Hebno signs a short-lived token with the private key and requests a new one each hour. Hebno uses these ZoomInfo API endpoints:

| Endpoint | Why Hebno needs it |
| - | - |
| `/search/company` and `/enrich/company` | Find a company and read its firmographic profile |
| `/search/contact` and `/enrich/contact` | Find people by company, title or department, and read contact details when you ask for them |
| `/enrich/orgchart` | Read reporting lines within a company |
| `/enrich/technology` | Read the technologies a company uses |
| `/search/intent` and `/enrich/intent` | Read intent signals on the topics your ZoomInfo admin selected |
| `/enrich/news` and `/enrich/scoops` | Read recent company news and scoops |
| `/lookup/usage` | Show how many records the API user has used against your ZoomInfo limit |

> [!TIP]
>
> ZoomInfo counts each enriched record against your account's API record limit. Hebno searches before it enriches, enriches contact details only when a request needs them, and stops at the **Monthly record limit** you set on the ZoomInfo card.

## Connect ZoomInfo

**1. Allow the integration**

Open **Admin → Connectors → Catalogue**, find **ZoomInfo** under **Company and market data**, and set it to **Allow**.

**2. Connect the organisation**

Select **Connect**, enter the API user's username, client ID and private key, then select **Test connection**. Hebno checks that it can authenticate and lists the endpoints your contract includes.

**3. Choose teams and data areas**

Under **Who can use it**, choose **All teams** or pick teams. Under **Data areas**, choose what members can see. See [Data areas](#data-areas).

**4. Set a usage limit**

Enter a **Monthly record limit** for Hebno, or leave it blank to use the limit on your ZoomInfo account. **Access** is **Read only**.

The card shows **Connected** with the API user and records used this month. Members in the selected teams can use ZoomInfo in chat straight away.

## Data areas

Data areas control what members of the allowed teams can see through the organisation connection. They apply on top of what your ZoomInfo contract includes.

| Data area | Includes | Default |
| - | - | - |
| **Company profiles** | Name, website, industry, headquarters, employee count, revenue range, locations, parent and subsidiaries | All allowed teams |
| **Contacts** | Name, job title, management level, department, company, location | All allowed teams |
| **Contact details** | Business email, direct phone and mobile numbers | Owners and admins |
| **Org charts** | Reporting lines and department structure | All allowed teams |
| **Technographics** | Technologies in use by category and vendor | All allowed teams |
| **Intent and news** | Intent topics with signal scores, news and scoops | All allowed teams |

An organisation connection with team access and data areas. Financial figures default to owners and admins.

To share contact details with business development, open the ZoomInfo card in **Admin → Connectors**, select **Contact details** and add the teams that should see them. Each contact detail a member reveals counts against the **Monthly record limit**.

## What Hebno reads

| ZoomInfo object | Fields Hebno uses | Typical questions |
| - | - | - |

| **Contact** | Name, job title, management level, department, start date in role | "Who leads pricing and merchandising at Contoso?" |
| **Org chart** | Manager and direct reports for a contact or department | "Who reports to Contoso's chief commercial officer?" |
| **Technology** | Product, vendor, category | "Which pricing and ERP systems does Contoso use?" |
| **Intent signal** | Topic, signal score, audience strength, date | "Is Contoso researching pricing optimisation?" |
| **News and scoops** | Headline, type, date, summary, source link | "What has Contoso announced since September?" |

![Chat reply citing a ZoomInfo company profile](https://mintcdn.com/hebno/koIaIv04-XHUqeC-/images/card-zoominfo.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=koIaIv04-XHUqeC-\&q=85\&s=af1be4fba1b5f026b6870deb8d95432c)

A ZoomInfo company profile attached to a chat.

Reads are live. Hebno queries ZoomInfo when a request needs it and does not copy ZoomInfo data into Hebno. Only what a reply used is stored with the conversation as its sources.

## What Hebno writes

Hebno does not write to ZoomInfo. It does not export contacts, create lists, change intent topics or push records to a CRM from ZoomInfo. To save a contact to your CRM, ask Hebno to create it through a CRM integration such as [HubSpot](https://hebno.com/docs/integrations/hubspot.md), and confirm the card.

## Link a project to a company

Linking marks which ZoomInfo company belongs to a project, so you can ask "who are the decision makers?" without naming the client.

1. Open the project and select **Brain**.
2. Under **Linked records**, select **Link record**, then **ZoomInfo**.
3. Search by company name or website and select the company.

In chats tagged to the project, Hebno starts with the linked company for any question about the client's size, people, technology or signals. See [Linked records](https://hebno.com/docs/projects/linked-records.md).

## Use ZoomInfo in chat

* **Attach**: open the **+** menu, choose **Sources → ZoomInfo**, and pick a company, a contact or an org chart. Or type `/` and choose **ZoomInfo**.

* **Ask**: name the company, function or topic in your request. For example:

  > Give me a one-page profile of Contoso Retail for the pricing review kickoff: size, revenue range, leadership and pricing systems.

  > Map Contoso's commercial and finance leadership two levels down from the CFO.

  > Which of our target retailers show intent on pricing optimisation this month?

* **Research runs** show a **Checking ZoomInfo** step, with a chip for each company and contact it read.

* **Agents** can read ZoomInfo on a schedule, for example a Monday digest of news and intent changes at linked clients. Writes an agent proposes elsewhere appear in [agent approvals](https://hebno.com/docs/automate/agent-approvals.md) for review.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Fix |
| - | - |
| **Test connection** fails with **401 Unauthorized** | The username, client ID or private key is wrong, or the API user was deactivated. Generate new credentials in the ZoomInfo **Admin Portal** and connect again. |
| An endpoint returns **403 Forbidden** | Your ZoomInfo contract does not include that data, for example intent or technographics. Ask your ZoomInfo account team to add the entitlement. |
| Contact emails and phone numbers are missing | The member's team is not in the **Contact details** data area. Add the team on the ZoomInfo card. |
| **Monthly record limit reached** | Hebno stopped enriching for the month. Raise the limit on the ZoomInfo card, or wait for the next month. |
| Requests fail with **429 Too Many Requests** | ZoomInfo limits requests per second and per minute for each API user. Hebno retries after a short wait. |
| Intent signals are empty | No intent topics are selected for your account. A ZoomInfo admin chooses topics in ZoomInfo. |
