Open the pane
In Excel, go to Home → Hebno → Open Hebno.Work on a range
1
Select a range
Highlight the cells you want to ask about, headers included.
2
Select Use selection
A card shows the range and its size. It captures the values and the formulas in those cells. Remove the card to start over.
3
Add an instruction
For example “Explain the margin calculation in column F”, “Find rows where hours exceed budget” or “Add a variance column”. Send it.
4
Place the reply
Choose a button under the reply.
Insert, replace or copy
Nothing changes in the workbook until you select one of these. Replace selection runs only if the range still matches what you captured, so an edit made after capture never gets overwritten without you reselecting.
Excel behaviour
- Hebno writes values. To add a formula to a cell, ask for it, then copy the text and paste it yourself.
- Tabular replies spread across rows and columns. A single value goes into one cell.
- Hebno reads the range you capture, not other sheets or the rest of the workbook. Ask about another sheet by selecting it and capturing again.
- Large selections are cut to the first part and the pane says so.
Use project context and skills
- Tag the chat to a project so Hebno can compare a range with the client’s budget, contract or rate card.
- Type
/to attach a skill, such as your variance review checklist. You can attach up to three.

Privacy
Hebno reads only the range you capture, and only after you select Use selection. A captured range becomes part of the chat, so people you share the chat with can read it.Next steps
