The Word add-in lets you send selected text to Hebno and place the reply back in the document, without copying between windows. Install and sign-in steps are on Office add-ins.

Open the pane

In Word, go to Home → Hebno → Open Hebno. The pane shows Ask Hebno about your work and the hint “Select text in Word to ask Hebno about it.”

Work on a selection

1

Select text

Highlight a paragraph, a clause or a whole section.
2

Select Use selection

A Selected text card appears above the message box with the character count. Remove it with the close icon if you change your mind.
3

Add an instruction

For example “Tighten this to 100 words”, “Rewrite for a board audience” or “List the risks in this section”. Send it.
4

Place the reply

Choose a button under the reply.

Insert, replace or copy

Hebno confirms with “Inserted into Word.” or “Replaced selected text in Word.” Replace selection checks that the text selected in the document still matches what you captured. If you have edited or moved the selection since, replace is blocked and you are asked to select again, so nothing is overwritten by accident.

How inserted text looks

Replies are inserted as plain text in the document’s current formatting. Markdown is flattened: bullets arrive as ”•” lines and tables show their pipe characters. Apply your own styles after inserting. Hebno does not add comments or tracked changes.

Use project context and skills

The pane is the normal Hebno chat.
  • Tag the chat to a project so replies use that client’s files, instructions and linked records.
  • Type / to attach a skill, such as your proposal outline, to the request. You can attach up to three.
  • Ask for a source-backed answer in the pane, then insert the text you want.
For a full document with citations, ask in the web app or desktop app and see Documents.
