The Harvest integration makes time and budget data available in your client work. Ask how many hours went into an engagement last week, how much of a project budget is spent, or what is still uninvoiced for a client, and Hebno answers from Harvest with each project and time entry cited. When you ask Hebno to log time, it shows a confirmation card and writes to Harvest only after you confirm.

At a glance

Before you start

You need:
  • A Harvest user in the account you want to use.
  • An allowed integration. An owner or admin sets Harvest to Allow under Admin → Connectors → Catalogue.
  • Assignment to the projects you want to log time against. Harvest accepts time only on projects and tasks you are assigned to.
Hebno signs in through Harvest ID and requests this scope: Harvest has no separate read and write scopes. What Hebno can see depends on your Harvest role:

Connect Harvest

1

Start the connection

Open Settings → Connections, find Harvest and select Connect. You can also select Connect from the prompt in a chat.
2

Sign in to Harvest

Sign in with your Harvest ID, choose the Harvest account if you belong to more than one, and select Authorize application.
3

Return to Hebno

The card shows Connected with your Harvest account name.
Hebno reads and writes with your own permissions, so you see only the projects, time and reports that your Harvest role can open. Tokens are encrypted at rest. Select Disconnect at any time, or ask an admin to revoke the connection under Admin → Connectors → Connections. You can also revoke access in Harvest ID under Authorized applications.

What Hebno reads

Budget and uninvoiced reports come from Harvest’s reports API, and only for roles that Harvest allows to see them. Reads are live. Hebno queries Harvest when a request needs it. Only what a reply used is stored with the conversation as its sources.
Excerpts a reply uses become part of the conversation. Anyone you share the conversation with can read them, including time entry notes and budget figures from Harvest.

What Hebno writes

Every write appears first as a confirmation card. You can change any field before you select Confirm.
Confirmation card for Harvest with editable fields

A Harvest change pending confirmation. Nothing is written until you confirm.

Hebno never starts or stops timers, edits or deletes existing entries, submits or approves timesheets, changes budgets or rates, or creates invoices or estimates in Harvest. Writes are made as your Harvest user, so the entry appears on your own timesheet. Linking marks which Harvest projects belong to an engagement, so you can ask “how much budget is left?” without naming the project.
  1. Open the project and select Brain.
  2. Under Linked records, select Link record, then Harvest.
  3. Search by project name, code or client, and select the project. Repeat for each Harvest project in the engagement.
In chats tagged to the project, Hebno starts with the linked Harvest projects for any time or budget question, and time cards default to them. See Linked records.

Use Harvest in chat

  • Attach: open the + menu, choose Sources → Harvest, and pick a project, your time for a week or a project budget report. Or type / and choose Harvest.
  • Ask: name the client, project or week in your request. For example:
How many hours has the team logged on the Contoso pricing review so far, by task?
What is still uninvoiced for Contoso Retail at the end of October?
Log 2.5 hours on Contoso, stakeholder interviews, for yesterday with the note “Interview with the pricing lead”.
  • Research runs show a Checking Harvest step, with a chip for each project, report and time entry it read.
  • Agents can read Harvest on a schedule, for example a Friday reminder listing days with no time logged. Writes an agent proposes appear in agent approvals for review.
