At a glance
Before you start
You need:- An owner or admin role in Hebno.
- Your Sage Intacct company ID, and the entity ID for each entity you want to use in a multi-entity company.
- A Web Services user for the integration, created by a Sage Intacct administrator under Company → Admin → Web Services users. Note its user ID and password. A Web Services user cannot sign in to the Sage Intacct interface, which separates the integration’s access from any person’s.
- Hebno’s sender ID authorised for your company. An administrator adds it under Company → Setup → Company → Security → Web Services authorizations. The sender ID appears on the Sage Intacct card in Hebno.
- Projects and Time & Expenses subscribed in Sage Intacct if you want project reads and timesheet entries.
Permissions
Sage Intacct applies the Web Services user’s roles or user permissions on every call. Give the user a dedicated role with these rights.Connect Sage Intacct
1
Allow the integration
Open Admin → Connectors → Catalogue, find Sage Intacct under Finance, and set it to Allow.
2
Connect the organisation
Select Connect, enter your company ID, the Web Services user ID and password, and an entity ID if you use one, then select Test connection. Hebno checks that it can connect to Sage Intacct and lists the objects the user can read and write.
3
Choose teams and data areas
Under Who can use it, choose All teams or pick teams for each entity. Under Data areas, choose what members can see. See Data areas.
4
Set access
Access is Read only by default. Choose Read and write to let members propose draft timesheet entries and draft AR invoices.
Link your own account
Members can link their own Sage Intacct user so writes are made in their name under their own Sage Intacct role.- In Hebno, open Settings → Connections, find Sage Intacct and select Link your account.
- Enter your Sage Intacct user ID and password and select Link.
Data areas
Data areas control what members of the allowed teams can see through the organisation connection. They apply on top of what the Web Services user can read in Sage Intacct.
An organisation connection with team access and data areas. Financial figures default to owners and admins.
When a member has linked their own account, Hebno uses that member’s Sage Intacct role instead of the organisation connection. Data areas still apply, so a member never sees more through Hebno than both Sage Intacct and your Hebno settings allow.
What Hebno reads
Reads are live. Hebno queries Sage Intacct when a request needs it, so figures match what finance sees. Only what a reply used is stored with the conversation as its sources.
What Hebno writes
Every write appears first as a confirmation card. You can change any field before you select Confirm. Hebno writes drafts only.
A Sage Intacct change pending confirmation. Nothing is written until you confirm.
Link a project to Sage Intacct
Linking marks which Sage Intacct records belong to a project, so you can ask “what has Contoso been billed?” without naming the customer.- Open the project and select Brain.
- Under Linked records, select Link record, then Sage Intacct.
- Choose the entity, then search and select the customer and each project the engagement uses.
Use Sage Intacct in chat
